Million or millions? 1º ESO B

We use million when we mention a number:

• the population is Britain is 29 million  people.

• We have 123 million dollars!

But when don't mention a number, we can say millions:

• Millions of people came to the concert!

(no number, so we say millions)

• There are millions of  animal species. 

(no number, so we say millions)

Verb can
es un verbo modal.

• No ponemos "to", se dice el verbo Can, nunca se dice TO can, 
• No añade "S" para He, she, it  (he can, she can, it can)
• Es irregular en la forma del pasado (could)

 Significado
Se usa para expresar habilidad y permiso.
Habilidad:  ¿sabes tocar la guitarra?
                  Can you play the guitar?
Permiso: ¿puedo cerrar la ventana?
               Can I close the window?

Affirmative

• I can play the trumpet.
  Yo puedo/sé tocar la trompeta.  

• You can sit here if you like.
  Puedes sentarte aquí si quieres. 

 

Negative: hay tres formas y las tres son correctas.

• I can not swim.
  No puedo/sé nadar.
• That cannot be true.
  Eso no puede ser cierto.
• You can't tell me what to do.
  No puedes decirme qué hacer  

Interrogative

• Can Peter speak German?
  ¿Puede/sabe Peter hablar alemán?
• Can you help me with my homework?
  ¿Me puedes ayudar con mi tarea?

Estimadas familias:

De cara a superar la asignatura en septiembre  para repasar lo que hemos visto este año os mandamos una lista de recomendaciones y os pedimos que animéis a vuestros hijos a que vean un poquito la tele en inglés, vídeos en inglés por internet y que visiten páginas donde jugar en inglés.

Os recuerdo que en la plataforma Edmodo tienen muchos ejercicios similares a los que cayeron en el examen, incluido el examen final de junio (muy parecido al de la recuperación de junio)

Así mismo os pedimos que animéis a vuestros hijos/as a visitar estas páginas:

Recomendaciones para el verano para 2º de ESO

Recomendaciones de la asignatura de inglés de 2º ESO para el verano

Estimadas familias:

Este curso hemos trabajado mucho, ahora toca descansar y disfrutar.

Aún así os recordamos que un idioma no se aprende sólo en clase, pues, cuanto más tiempo estamos expuestos a un idioma mejor aprendemos.

De cara a superar la asignatura en septiembre o repasar y afianzar bien los contenidos que hemos visto este año os mandamos una lista de recomendaciones y os pedimos que animéis a vuestros hijos a que vean un poquito la tele en inglés, vídeos en inglés por internet y que visiten páginas donde jugar en inglés.

Con dedicar quince minutitos cada día, se van asimilando mejor estructuras y vocabulario, sin tener que memorizarlas.

Os recuerdo que en la plataforma Edmodo  tienen muchos ejercicios similares a los que cayeron en el examen.
